A place for travelers

We are glad you found us!  Travel Karma is all about connecting friends of friends who just happen to live in different places.  We have all had great experiences traveling to foreign places to visit a friend who was living, studying, working or volunteering there.  How much more fun was it to learn about the real life of local citizens?  Where they live, where they go out, how they get around - the stuff you can't learn from a guide book.  Travel Karma helps you find out who in your network has connections where ever you are going, be it Manhattan, Milan or Mumbai! 

Signing up *will be* quick and easy!

You can share as much or as little about yourself as you want.  The profiles are short and meant simply to give enough info for people to give you travel tips tailored to your personality.  **UPDATE** We need help with development.  If you are a developer and would like to be a part of this project contact us. 

We don't expect you to visit Travel Karma everyday

We're not your email, your facebook, or your twitter even.  We know you have a life and we're trying to save you time, not waste it.  Just log in when you're planning a trip, tell us where you're going and we'll do the rest.  For now interact with TK Gurus on our blog. 
Why are we doing this?

We started this site because we, the founders, love to travel and also love connecting people.  We have taken many, many trips where we reached out to our networks to be our "guides" and realized how great it is to see a city through a local perspective.  We know most people aren't as outgoing so we're making it easier for everyone else to meet friends abroad.
